THE PHYSICAL THERAPY
EVALUATION
An evaluation includes a detailed, one hour to an hour-and-a-half examination. The time is taken to fundamentally learn and acknowledge the client’s perspective of their physical goals and challenges. An exam is performed in which physical ability is further determined. From this, realistic and meaningful physical goals within the context of what is important to the client are mapped out. The physical therapist then designs an individualized program in terms of frequency, order, intensity, variability of how forces will pass through the tissues.

Rehabilitation, fitness and prevention programs created by a Physical Therapist are unique, because the whole person and the sciences behind bodily movement, are carefully considered. Physical Therapists are in a sense like movement mechanics and this is the heart of why this website is called the Body Garage.

“By 2020, physical therapy will be provided by physical therapists who are Doctors of Physical Therapy, recognized by consumers and other health care professionals as practitioners of choice to whom consumers have direct access for the diagnosis of, interventions for, and prevention of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities related to movement, function and health.”
